Introduction:
TCI Tricone bits designed for soft formations are specifically used for drilling in low compressive strength and very soft formations. These bits utilize both conical and chisel tungsten carbide inserts that are large in diameter and project outwards. This unique cutting structure design, along with maximum cone offset, allows for high rates of bit penetration. Additionally, the deep intermesh of cutter rows prevents the bit from becoming clogged in sticky formations.

Features
1. Bearing Structure: The bit has a high precision journal bearing with two thrust faces. The cone is locked in place with a ball, and the head bearing surface is hardfaced. The cone bearing is also lined with a friction-reducing alloy and silver-plated. This improves the abrasion and seizure resistance of the bearing, making it suitable for high rotary speeds.
2. G-Gauge Protection: The bit has additional tungsten carbide inserts placed in the gauge area to reduce wear in abrasive formations. This protects the gauge and increases the stability and lifespan of the bit.
3. Cutter: The bit is equipped with premium carbide teeth that have increased resistance to breaking and abrasion. This enhances the lifespan of the cutting structure.
4. Nozzle: The bit is designed with sturdier nozzles that provide greater flow capacity and ensure optimal fluid distribution to the cones.
Technology
1.Motor hardfacing: Tungsten carbide particle hardfacing is applied liberally along the shirttail and extended up the leading edge of the bit leg for additional protection in high-speed, directional or abrasive applications
2.Seal and Lubrication: The bearing seal is adapting the high quality HNBR O-ring. The best seal compression and the radial seal structure can enhance the seal performance. The compensation system and the high quality bit grease can limit pressure differential, and greatly increase the lubricating reliability.
