Tricone bit 17 1/2 inches IADC 437 inserts:
The 437 tungsten carbide insesrts with spoon shape. The operationg parameters 150~70 RPM and 0.35~0.9 WOB. The bits can be drilled very soft formations with low compressive strength and high drillability, such as clay, mudstone, chalk, gypsum, salt, soft limestone, etc.
HengJi Tricone Roller Bit Application Instructions:
During drilling, the roller cone bit uses the weight of the drill bit and the rotation of the drill string to crush and penetrate the rock. As the teeth on the roller cones grind into the rock, they also create a sliding motion that shears the rock. As the roller cones roll along the bottom of the well, the teeth impact and press into the formation, crushing some of the rock. The shearing action from the sliding motion of the roller cones then cuts through the remaining rock between the teeth. This process breaks apart the rock at the bottom of the well, extending the wellbore.
The roller cone bit is commonly used in oil and geological drilling due to its ability to impact, crush, and shear rock formations as it rotates. This versatility allows the roller cone bit to be effective in a wide range of soft, medium, and hard formations.
